Biophilia

IMG_4366.jpeg

Erich Seligmann Fromm

Biophilia means "affection for living things or living systems". This concept was first proposed by Erich Fromm to explain the psychological tendency to be attracted to life and life. Wilson also used the term in the same sense, arguing that humans have a tendency, an instinct, to subconsciously seek connections with other living things. He said that nature conservation is in line with our biophilia instincts.
